I had heard that you have some time after they expire. Maybe you can still use them after your break?

Make sure you check the actual vials, not just the box. I had meds that had an expiration date of 10/13 on the box. When I opened the box, it turned out that the saline vials were expiring 10/13, but the actual medicine vials had expiration dates of 2/14. Had I not opened the box, I would have tossed perfectly good meds.
