Speaking of Farmhouse Tables
I have a friend who does a lot of woodwork on the side. He has some beautiful stuff he's made. I don't want to spend a ridiculous amount so we were discussing type of wood. I showed him pics from pintrist that I loved and he said it was pine. The issue with pine is it's soft wood, but for a dining room table I wouldn't mind. I want the look 90% of the time and only use it for a few holidays. For that we'd get a pad down then the table cloth.
Thoughts? What's the best wood without spending a fortune? He also said with pine he could make extenders to add to the end rather than the middle so it doesn't take away from the wood.
