Baby straining
Hi All! My best friend gave birth 2 weeks ago today to a beautiful baby girl. She was on similac advance but changed to similac sensative because the baby was choking on the forumula. The baby is very fussy and is always staining to go to the bathroom. Since she switched to the sensative she doesn't go to the bathroom as much as on the advance. The pediatrican told her to stimulate her with a q-tip and she did yesterday and she went to the bathroom. The pediatrican did say that not all kids go everyday and that is ok. I told her that she should do it again today because when she did it yesterday, it was a little hard. Does anyone have anything else that might work? I had to do this to both of my girls because they had a problem in the beginning.
Thank you!!!!!!!!

Baby straining
DD has the same issue.. We switched to gentleease instead of sensitive and it did help a little.. but she still was straining. We do an ounce of prune juice a day mixed with an ounce of water. Dr said this is safe up to twice a day.

Baby straining
We did prune juice. And as she got older maalax or mirilax. Consulted with a gastro dr because she went on neocate formula (milk allergy ) and continued to strain. Would strain all day ! Poop was never hard though. Just now at 6 months I'd say she's significantly better. We had to be cautious starting solids too.

Re: Baby straining
THank you so much! The pediatrican told her to go on gentleease and she did last night, but out of 3oz the baby only drank 1.5oz. I told her she has to get use to it.
I appreciate the help! Thank you!!!!
