Before and After pictures of our bathroom
Our bathroom is almost complete. It has taken almost 3 weeks which was longer than we had hoped. We knew there was water damage but had no idea how extensive it was until we gutted the bathroom. The water damage extended into our kitchen and we had to also gut our kitchen. We basically had to rewire and re-plumb our entire house. When I go into our new bathroom its certainly worth it.
I couldn't upload pictures so there in my album

Re: Before and After pictures of our bathroom
Thank you. It's all done with plywood walls with birch moldings. It took about 2 days to build (the make it into one piece for each wall) and 1 day to sand.

Love it!! It looks so different. I wish I had had your pics to show the contractor before my bathroom was redone lol.

Our contractor really was the one with all the ideas. He had a lot of images on his iPad of work he had done and I just loved the look of all the custom wood work. He designed the whole space and we let him run with it. We choose the colors for tile and walls.

Re: Before and After pictures of our bathroom
The "wainscoting" look of the woodwork on the walls -- not sure if that is the correct term -- but it is such a nice alternative to doing tile up the walls or just plain paint.
I really like the contrast of the white of the woodwork against the other warmer tones of the rest of the bathroom. The flooring is great - it's that retro look of the smaller tile with the modern color and look of today!
Everything looks great. Was it crazy pricey for the woodwork?

Thank you the main thing we wanted for our bathroom was for it to look as timeless and possible. The floor tile is a marble basket weave which was something we never even considered but our contractor really convinced us that it would look good and very rarely cracks. The woodwork is pricey but mainly because it takes time. So it more of a Labor expense. The wood itself is cheaper than tile. You also need someone who knows what they are doing with both building it and sealing it.

Yeah that's actually good for me -- because, for me, the labor would be free as FIL is a master woodworker - does AMAZING and perfectionist work. So, the fact that the materials are relatively inexpensive would be great. I will have to keep this in mind for a bathroom reno - it needs it now, hell, it needed it two years ago but I don't have the time or money right now. Someday!
