My BP is up :((((((

Last check up at 27 weeks, my blood pressure was slightly elevated in comparison to my usual- I am usually really low. 4weeks later today at 31 weeks, it is even more elevated :( No proteins yet in the urine but I am so terrified that I will have pre-e again! I had it pretty bad with DS to the point that he was growth restricted so I do not want to go through it again. DD so far is growing beautifully so the Drs are not worried but I have to go back in two weeks to check again. So nervous about this.

Any ways to naturally keep the BP down? It was 128/80 today so still low enough to control. I am going to lower my gluten and sodium intake and increase water and potassium starting today. Hoping this does not get worse!

I had elevated BP almost my whole pregnancy- from 2nd tri on- and had to be on meds for it, but never developed pre e. So there is hope that it will just be that.
It was always like 140/90, never much higher than that, but they wanted me on a low dose med to control it. Sometimes even with the med it would creep to around that range, but in the end all was well.
I had to do the 24 hour urine collection and they did watch me closely. I also had some pretty bad swelling (just in my feet and ankles) but I never had protein in my urine.

The second I delivered, my BP came down with no meds and stayed there. Never had elevated BP again since.
Dr said it was pretty much just the strain of the extra blood flow during the pregnancy that caused me pregnancy induced hypertension.


What you are doing is good, lots of water, low sodium diet for sure and try to relax as much as you can.

With my DS, I had to stay in LIJ for a few days hooked up to magnesium bc it took a long time to stabilize. I always have super low BP naturally so this jump is really killing me. I have no proteins and no swelling so far so i'll take it and hope it was just elevated because of a stressful week.

You know my story, it was fine all pregnancy then one day 170/100.... Any tips to avoid it next time are greatly appreciated.

I met Wendy today in Dr Cohens office, I know you love her but I was not a fan. She was a bit too much for me, but her exam was good..

I had a BP monitor for something else and they can make your BP go up, as you might get hooked on checking it all the time, be carful

Ahhh now you are making me nervous. A few days ago (34 weeks now) my ankles started to swell and my hands. Scared to see what they say at my appointment this week. Like my ankles are huge all of a sudden. So weird. I'm keeping my feet up when I'm home and drinking water. At work those 2 things are hard to do.

Lots of water. I ended up having to go on labetalol and 8 months PP, I'm still on it. They were happy when my BP was around 130/70. I was sent to L&D for pre-e testing when it hit 160/100 but after tests and monitoring, it went down and didn't have any other pre-e symptoms and I was sent home.
