I have 3x in this pregnancy. My OB said it's fine, just not too much often. I love it on a flagel/bagel

Re: Tuna
I don't, only bc my OB said no to anything but chunk light, which I don't like. I'm sure every so often, white/albacore would be ok, but it's just not something I've missed enough to cheat with.

Tuna
I had it for the first time a few days ago. It was never something I ate often but it also wasn't on the do not eat list provided by my OB. I think like any thick fish, it's ok in moderation.

Re: Tuna
Yes I had a 5 oz can of chunk light last night. Once in a while is fine. I think the guideline is one can a week is ok? Not sure, but I have it less often that that.

Re: Tuna
Yes a few times throughout the pregnancy. Aim for chunk light. I add it to a salad with fresh veggies to make a healthy lunch.

Tuna
yes in moderation. its not one of those things that one time could be a bad time. its the build up of mercury in your bloodstream, so just don't over do it.
americanpregnancy.org has a great chart

Re: Tuna
My last pregnancy I did in moderation. This pregnancy I have a new OB and he is the King of No. I had a whole lecture of the dos and don'ts like I never had a pregnancy before. Anyway, he said no more than one can per week and it has to be some type but I can't remember what he said because I started tuning him out at that point. Actually, I started tuning him out after the no soft serve lecture. LOL

Re: Tuna
When I was pregnant I ate it about once a month. Sometimes twice a month I used to crave it!! The Dr said I could eat it once a week but I stuck with about once a month, twice tops.

Re: Tuna
No. I read that 6oz a week of the white tuna in a can was ok but my OB told me to avoid all tuna.

Re: Tuna
I do...maybe a couple times so far. My OB said that the benefits of eating the fish would outweight any negative consequence. Of course, everything in moderation.
EPA also has some recommendations regarding fish consumption. If you're curious, the pamphlet cane be found here.

Tuna
I didn't. I've read things saying tuna has more mercury in it than it's currently listed as having. I just didn't think it was worth it, although I used to love tuna salad on ritz crackers. I still don't eat it but I know I'm way more cautious than most people!
