iPhone help - battery drain and phone getting hot?

I recently received a replacement iPhone 5S and the battery drain is killing me.

I have locked down every single app - no location services, no cellular data, no automatic refresh, no sharing, no notifications, etc. I have rebooted and let it drain to 0 so I can get a full charge.

Today, I was on the phone with my mom and husband (maybe 10 minutes max) and the phone got very hot, even my left my ear feeling warm.

What the heck can I do? I get 2 hours of battery life before it drains completely. I am up to date on the system updates. It is so frustrating because I literally cannot leave my house for the day and have a phone with battery life, it always has to stay charging.

Any ideas?

I have the i4s and it does not hold its charge for long and I shut off many options, getting hot, yes this one does when using a lot of date not so much during phone calls, but it has happened.

I don't like it for emails or calls, in fact the blackberry worked better

I had an Iphone 5 that had a battery recall. I was having the same issues you are describing. Check to see if yours is part of the recall: Apple Battery Replacement Program

I just had this probablem with my new 6.
I sent t back and got a new one. No issues now. They said it sounded like a defective battery.
