Are you doing cord blood or running the blood out of placenta??
This is all new to me. I'm not really interested in doing cord blood banking and didn't do it with DS but I heard something about not cutting the umbilical cord immediately and letting the bsby get the cells via that way. Can someone explain this to me and is one better than the other?

I am doing the latter, which is called delayed cord clamping. Basically, you let the blood pulsate out of the placenta until it stops. This will allow the baby to obtain the extra blood that is in the placenta.
I don't know if one is better than the other, however in my view, I'd rather my child get the blood/cells immediately, vs paying to store it and more than likely not using it in the future. Also, I think a lot of the long-term usage and storage of cord blood has not been proven enough to convince me of its necessity.

Didn't have the option, but would do delayed cord clamping next time.
