Had DS!

It's 5:48 and I can't sleep after a long night of feeding, so I figured I'd post about my delivery of DS2!

First- to all who recommended Dr Antoniadis- THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!! I'm so glad I switched. He's been nothing but amazing during my pregnancy, labor, and after delivery!

Went to dr on my due date- still 2cm dilated. Dr wanted to see me again Friday. I had concerns about the size of DS, so Dr sent me for a growth sono the next day. Went to growth sono and DS was measuring 9lbs3oz and my fluids were low. The sono tech went to a Dr to show him the results (which isn't good, so I knew something was up). They were concerned about fluid levels, so I was sent to the hospital to be induced!

Dr A wanted me to do as much on my own without meds as I could. Unfortunately, I made no progress after 6hrs, so he started pitocin. With every contraction, baby's heart rate dropped, so I got taken off. At 4am I was put back on. I made very little progress. There were multiple threats of a csection. I was allowed to stay on pitocin until 8am when I was checked again. No progress. One of the nurses said she was going to put me in fire hydrant position (on my side with one leg up in a stirrup). I was like that for an hour and then in the same position on my other side for another hour. I felt the urge to push, so I knew it was working. I was at 10cm, but DS was still high and heart rate was still up and down. Had to sit up for an hour to coax him down- didn't work. Dr a gave me one push to see if I could get him down. I pushed and was told to stop since I almost pushed him out and they weren't ready. One push later, I had Henry George - weighing 9lbs3oz & 21inches long.

He had a full knot in his umbilical cord, which was causing the distress. Could've been a very bad ending, but it wasnt! No tearing, no problems, and I feel great!!! Dr A was amazing throughout the process - came to check on me a bunch of times and, most importantly, got DS out safely!

His big brother is so in love with him. I couldn't ask for him to be any better than he is!

Congrats!!!! So glad you liked Dr A. He is truly amazing. He was also great with me. He always lets you try as long as your health and baby's is ok. As soon as anyone is in danger he will go the csection route. He really truly cares for each and every patient.
