Sorry to crash. Not currently ttc but taking opks as per my dr to help my cycle (I have PCOS). 31 days later, two digital opk kits and target cheapies, and I finally got this result. I then took a digital that came up negative. I'm assuming this isn't a true positive.

Thanks ladies. Yes, it's negative. Apparently Target brand opks have a lot of negative reviews of false surges. Giving in and buying another digital kit. Fingers crossed I get a cycle so I dont need Provera again.

I don't think it's a false positive. It looks negative The test line needs to be as dark or darker than the control. Once you get used to seeing what a positive looks like it will be easier. I would use the wondfo ones and in the beginning when it looked positive I would double check with the clearblue smiley. I got good at it and no longer needed the digital as back up

Is the second picture another test, the next day? If so, it looks like you're coming up to your surge.

ETA: I have no idea how a test would give false positives, or how someone would even know they have a false positive. The only way to really know would be to get a false positive, then go to the dr to get blood to confirm, only to find out there was not a surge. Seems highly unlikely. More likely it's a case of people not reading the test accurately. As another posted said, the test line has to be as dark or darker than the control line.

In the case of OPKs, any line does not mean it's positive. With a pregnancy test, any line, no matter how light, is positive. Different tests, totally different ways to read a positive.

The second one is another test later that day. I took another digital opk to confirm and it was negative. Plus I had no symptoms of o. I've gotten three days in a row that look like test two but no symptoms and negatives on the digital tests.

The first picture is definitely negative, the second could be positive. The line colors will be exactly the same for a positive.
