can a 6 year old get coxsackie?
my son is 6 1/2 and has had diarrhea for a few days. Well last night he started with a rash on his foot. The top of the foot and the ankle. Today it is now on his other foot, on his balls, by his pelvic bone and now slightly on his stomach.
No fever. No blisters. Looks almost like prickley heat kind of rash.
is this coxsackie? can a 6 year old get coxsackie?
oh and the past 2 nights, he's woken up saying they itch really badly.

It doesn't sound like coxsackie though. Have you tried the gold bonds medicated powder? That would relieve some of the itch and rash.

Anyone can get coxsackie, even adults.
But this doesn't sound like classic coxsackie.
More like some kind of rash - maybe a virus or an allergic reaction to something?
Have you changed laundry detergents or soaps or anything recently?

It doesn't sound like typical coxsackie but it could be.
My DS had it this summer and he had the fever and no rash other than 1 blister.....passed it on though to the entire extended family!

nope we haven't changed anything and he hasn't eaten anything new.
