Hi ladies. I've been on the TTC board for a year and this Saturday DH and I are going to see a fertility doctor. I'm really freaked out but I'm hopeful that she'll be able to help us. I have low progesterone but (thankfully) my last round of 100mg clomid worked for me. DH has a low sperm count so my OBGYN mentioned that the fertility doctor will probably suggest an iui.

For ladies who have had one done, what is the process like? When we see the doctor I'll be on CD 2 so I'm hoping we can get started right away this cycle. Thanks to anyone with some advice and Chat Icon to all

If its your first visit I don't think you will start this cycle, they usually want baseline bloods drawn, HSG to make sure your tubes are open and a salin sono to look at your uterus.
IUI feels like a pap, and you can feel the sperm being injected in, it felt cold to me and you might have some cramping.

Good luck

Thank you! I've actually already had both of those tests done already and thankfully everything was ok. My regular gyno has been great with starting me on the Clomid and sending me for all these tests already.

Hi.. Welcome.. if you've already had those tests done than they may do something this cycle.. I was lucky enough to have a wonderful OB who sent me for the tests ahead of time and the RE I am using looked over everything and decided not to wait another cycle and start ASAP.. I'm in the process of waiting to "O" for my first non medicated IUI. You will be at the office a lot for bloodwork and monitoring sonos so just make sure you are close enough or don't mind travelling. Good luck and hopefully 2015 brings you much luck!

Thank you so much! And good luck to you as well :). I'm hoping this Dr feels the same way and gets us started right away.

Since the basic tests are done I hope you get started right away. I saw an RE on CD 1 and started tests immediately. Had HSG toady and will start Clomid next cycle if I don't get a BFP on my own. Since you're ahead of the game hopefully you can jump to an IUI immediately!

So we went to see the RE yesterday and we really liked her. She was really frinedly and explained everything to us. She took blood from me yesterday to get things going and for this first cycle we're going to try a natural IUI. If it doesn't work we're going to get back on the clomid next month and we'll use the trigger shot before the IUI.
