Does anyone have Carrera Marble in their Bathroom
We priced honed carrera marble for our main bathroom's wall and floor tiles & we were going to be all set to purchase this week but then came across some info online mentioning how it's not the best material to use in a high traffic area as it stains easily(even by water), can dull over time, & would need to be sealed about 2x a year. I would love any feedback.

Re: Does anyone have Carrera Marble in their Bathroom
We have honed carerra on the shower wals and vanity tops in our master, polished carerra on the tub walls and vanity top in our hall bath and honed Calcutta marble on shower walls in our guest bath. We chose not to use it on any floor surfaces, our master has porcelain tile, hall has a dark natural stone, guest bath has wood flooring that is in the rest of the house. You do have to be careful with cleaners only using things that are safe for natural stone, but we've had no problems.

We have honed in our powder room. The floor has taken a beating, badly because it is such a high traffic bathroom. I wouldn't recommend it for the floor. It is only a few years old and I am considering ripping it up.

Re: Does anyone have Carrera Marble in their Bathroom
We have a carrera vanity counter in the bathroom and its great, no complaints! I was worried about staining, but it hasn't been an issue really. DH isn't allowed to use Irish Spring anymore, but that's about it.
We also have a marble tile backsplash in our kitchen (I really wanted the counter top there but I love to cook and knew the upkeep would drive me crazy) and it's great. I have a special marble cleaner, or natural stone cleaner, and that's all we do.
We have a caesarstone counter in the kitchen and that's a great alternative, very low maintenance and virtually indestructible.

There was already a carrera countertop in our bathroom when we moved in. It has been seven years and it still looks good. I am not careful with what I use to clean it, nor have I ever sealed it.

I have read a lot of people saying similar things regarding carrera in high traffic areas. The images of stained white marble will have me on edge whenever people use my bathroom..lol I am torn. I am IN lOVE with the look of carrera but this will be going in our main bathroom. It will be high traffic - everyone will be using this bathroom, which includes my 2 messy young sons. I know that I will constantly worry about it when using makeup or self tanner. I need to make my mind up.
