design help! Bathroom

I am getting my pink bathroom tile reglazed and making it white, but it has a black border around it, which I will be keeping. So, I am going for the whole black/white vintage look. My question is: what should I paint the walls above the tile? Right now, it's this ugly pink color with white splotches (i have no idea what they were thinking lol)... I was thinking either white or light gray, but was hoping for some other ideas! I attached a pic of our bathroom on here for you guys to take a look at so you get an idea of what I'm talking about :)

That's going to look great with the white tiles. You're lucky that the floor and the sink/vanity are in such good shape. I would say there are lots of colors you could do. Is this a master bath or guest bath? What colors are the rest of the house?

Just a few ideas...a soft gray or blue. My fave warm gray is SW Amazing Gray. You could also go very dark with a gray or blue. Lastly, light blue or pale green or yellow would be pretty too. In our old house in NY we had a similar feel and I painted the walls Montgomery White which is really a pale yellow. We had all historical colors in that house.

thanks! The vanity is new actually- We switched out the old one with that one :)

The rest of the house is sage green, gray, and beige. This is our only bathroom in the house so far. We have a 2 bed 1 bath wideline cape with an unfinished attic that can be converted into two more beds and a bath, or we may dormer if we decide not to move down the road.

I like the pale yellow idea or the soft blue

You can really do anything since it's going to be black and white. I tend to do my bathrooms in soft calming tones.

We had that in our old house in the bathroom, and it looked really nice. We had it with beige tile.

We always joked that we had Quiet Moments in the bathroom.

We have the dreaded pink bathroom right now and we threw BM Tundra on the walls above it until we can renovate.

You have a lot of options; light gray, dark gray, tan, sage, light blue, slate blue and even a matte black.

I would go white, and if you want to make it dramatic (especially if you are keeping black border) paint the walls black or dark charcoal. Go to Houzz and search black and white baths for some images and you will see some examples of ordinary vs WOW. Black walls are bold and fabulous. I love your floor tile, and if you break it up with white lower tile, the charcoal/black will look great. If you want a softer look, paint the walls light blue--a very elegant combo with black and white. You can also choose s fabulous black and white wallpaper...or black/white with a splash of color like red or yellow.

Good luck and post pics when done!
