Pear shape, What is flattering
I am shaped like a pear. like an Oompah Loompah. I am small on top. Almost flat chested (thanks to pumping for my last child) And I have hips and Huge thighs and saddle bags. I have two parties coming up. One is my son's Christening and the other is my cousin's son's Christening and my DH is the Godfather. I don't know how to dress my body. I am extremely self conscious. Extremely. I hate shopping and think everything looks terrible. I'm also having trouble finding something age appropriate. I'm 37 years old but feel like things are for either my grandmother or a 22 year old. Sorry this was so long. Any suggestions on styles to try or styles to stay away from?

You by no means look like an Oompah Loompah my dear. You have a beautiful body. The grass is always greener, I hate these big boobs having children has given me. I would go with something like an A-line dress that accentuates your upper body. Believe it or not I've found some cute dresses online at Kohls. This way I can ask others opinions and just return what I don't like.

I agree with an A-line skirt or dress. Also wrap dresses are very flattering and forgiving.
And please...stop referring to yourself as an Oompah Lompah. There is no such thing

I have had a lot of luck at Dress Barn. They actually make clothes for real women's bodies. I have found luck with dresses that have a lot of ruching. And they have that there. I got my dresses for both christenings there. GL!

A lot has changed since the last time you saw me. I went from hard core bootcamp 5 days a week to sitting in a chair at home all day and night. And eating very poorly. My body has changed a lot. :( So now I need new clothes to fit this body. I'm just concerned about these two parties right now. I don't really leave the house much these days so I don't care about how I look on a daily basis.

And fo stores I suggest places like Ann Taylor, Loft, NY & Company. Stay away from younger type stores and I also stay away from Dept stores unless they have some good lines of designers.
