Mamas of identical twins...
I went for my anatomy scan last week and one baby is measuring a little smaller. They are both still within normal range and there is no concern...just that they need to be watched closely that there is no Twin to Twin transfusion. Anyone have any experience with this? I read up on it and while I don't feel like that's what will happen, I hate that one is smaller (4 oz smaller) and it worries me of course. My DH isn't concerned but I can't make myself not be. Anyone have one twin smaller at this stage and then go on to have no issues at time of birth?

Re: Mamas of identical twins...
I feel for you as I have been there! I have triplets, 2 Id and one fraternal, and honestly it was like no one even cared they were triplets, my doctors were so focused on the two being mono-di (which I am assuming yours are if you are worried about Ttts). They scared the ever living crap out of me week to week and sucked all the joy out of the pregnancy. One of my Ids was always bigger. They were born at 34 weeks, almost a pound apart, but no ttts! Hang in there. Are you at nsuh by any chance? They are excellent but I always found their mfm group very grim :/ good luck to you and your girls.

Eta- even if ttts does rear its ugly head, you have treatment options. You can contact dr. Julian de lia who pioneered the laser ablation surgery as he does case reviews for free. Don't let them make you feel like it's hopeless.

Re: Mamas of identical twins...
Thanks for your responses. Well, it's not TTTs. Since my 20 week appt. I was sent to a MFM dr. in Winthrop and was told that one baby has a two vessel chord rather than three and the placement of the chord to my placenta is abnormal which is affecting the blood flow. I had an amnio on Thursday (which was a very hard decision to make) and so far, the prelim results are normal. I have to wait another week and a half for the rest of the results and this Friday I go for a fetal echocardiogram. From that point on, I'll be getting weekly sonos with this high risk Dr. to monitor their heartbeats.
Just praying that BOTH babies will be ok.
