Snow makes me want to cook

With the storm we just had, I tried my very first crockpot meal. I made pulled pork and it was delicious! We had pork tacos with avocado, onions and cilantro. Then I made cheesy polenta with some jalapeño hot sauce and pan fried squares and sever the pulled pork on top.
Now that they're calling for some significant snow Monday and Tuesday, I'm already trying to think of what I'm going to cook those two days. I definitely want to make a soup of some sort. I think I'll try something in the crockpot. I can't decide between chicken noodle, black bean or chicken enchilada.
What are your go-to snowy day/comfort meals? I'm trying to make a food shopping list.

My fav comfort foods to make are baked mac and cheese, and baked ziti. I love a good crock pot chilli

I've already made my grocery list!

I will plan on having stuff to make some soups like-
Skinnytaste Turkey meatball tortellini soup
and motzoh ball soup

I also want to make this week-
lasagna roll ups
meat loaf
whole chicken in the crock pot with veggies

My favorite comfort meal is shepard's pie, that's what I'm planning to make Tuesday night.

I think I'll do an apple pie ala mode for dessert!

Just baked brownies! Going to make a fresh pot of chicken soup. May try to do more of a chicken pot pie soup. Going to make stuffed peppers as well for Monday probably.

I am planning on a pot roast for Tuesday, I make it in the oven.
There is chili in the freezer, cornbread would go nice with that.
Buttermilk chocolate cake sounds good for dessert. I need to use up the buttermilk left over from the banaa bread I made yesterday.

I'm definitely making beef barley soup during the snow day(s). Also have chicken and potatoes so will probably make some kind of chicken/comfort food dish. Stocked up on eggs, so I may make a frittata or quiche. And I have plenty of baking supplies and pantry staples. So I'm good to go!

Making a big pot of sauce right now...gnocchi too.

Going to make a quinoa-black bean taco filling later or tomorrow night.

Have other stuff in the house in case I want to make cookies, soup or roasted chickpeas.

Also have vegan marshmallows so I can pop those in hot cocoa or make smores

Oh, and I bought a cherry pie at the bakery today.

All I do is cook when it snows, too!
I'm making lentils and rosemary focaccia Tues. and the girls and I will dec bake cookies.
Tomorrow will be a big pot of chicken cacciatore and brownies.
I swear I secretly love blizzards.

I made homemade meat sauce today with ribs, sausage, & meatballs. Tomorrow I am making chicken pot pie and I will bake oatmeal raisin cookies with the boys. Thinking minestrone soup for Tuesday. Wednesday if we are still housebound we should have tons of leftovers to get us through the day.

I love making bolognese sauce and pasta. Really any pasta dish for the most part meets my want for comfort food

When I was younger, my mom used to make fresh bread, and make a red pepper and feta cheese dip. Mmmm.

Made roast beef with potatoes, onions, carrots and parsnips yesterday. Yummy 2 day meal. Tomorrow it's sausage and peppers, a favorite in our house. Oh we also made brownies today.

As far as the crock pot goes I love the McCormick crockpot spices and have made the stew and the beef stroganoff. I serve this with buttered egg noodles with peas.


I've also done chicken thighs with onions and carrots covered in bbq sauce. I make potato salad and corn on the cob with this.

I put a garlic-dijon-rosemary stew together in the crock pot this morning (leeks, onions, carrots, orange pepper, mushrooms, sweet potatoes, regular potatoes, and beef) - basically used it to clean out what was languishing in the fridge.

I also just put some reduced fat brownies in the mix (TJs mix using yogurt instead of eggs/oil, to which I added some chopped up maraschino cherries and extra cocoa powder).

My husband is going to make a tomato bread in the bread maker soon.

I so got my cooking on today, lol. Batch cooked pancakes for breakfast, tomato soup and grilled cheese for lunch, kneaded up a rosemary focaccia, and did a crockpot pot roast with parsnips. I just put up a pot bean lentil soup with fennel, scallion and potatoes all while hanging out with the kids. They "helped" lol. OK eta a pan of brownies just went in, too. I neeeded more nutella on my fat azz. Thank God DH was home or it would have been leftovers or defrosted batch meals
