Re: Prompt therapist
Donna Lederman is the prompt guru of Long Island. She is expensive but extremely well recommended. Even if you don't want to use her for weekly therapy you should consider her for an initial evaluation. We saw her for a bit but stopped because as my sons language emerged it becAme obvious that he was not apraxic. But I definitely recommend her. If you need someone who takes insurance, I'm told some of the universities have clinics that use prompt. I live in queens and was flat out told there were NO prompt therapists available through early intervention there. Good luck!

Prompt therapist
Second Donna Lederman. She is expensive but I have personally seen her work miracles in some of my friends children.

Re: Prompt therapist
PROMPT
There are a LOT of trained therapists in the NY area.
I've been trained in PROMPT as well as Kauffman and Beckman. I have a huge interest in oral motor development and treatment methods. One thing I have learned is that there is NO gold standard for apraxia treatment. Each of those methods is just a tool in the tool belt. I have found the PROMPT hierarchy helpful but found success using each of those methods.

We saw Linda Krostich in. Plainview. It was very short so I can't really say good or bad.

Prompt therapist
Tracey Delio - she is 145 per visit but she knows what she is talking about. She's a prompt instructor. I just had her come this week to work up a plan for my son and she will be back the end of February. I can't afford her any more than that right now. But if your insurance pays something for out of network, she is worth it.

Re: Prompt therapist
We've decided to use Linda Krostich's office in Plainview. We started a few weeks ago with another therapist in her office. So far, I'm happy with the therapist.
