Test or Wait? (after IUI/IVF) - Update... I tested!!!
For those who had IUI or IVF (I just had IUI last Saturday) did you test before the 2 week blood work?
Update #1: Blood work is tomorrow... I tested this morning and all 3 tests were BFP! I never tested out the trigger shot but I'm thinking 2 weeks later it's out of my system.
Update #2: Beta today (2/7/15), 142 I'm Pregnant! Thank you everyone!!!
BFP Test

Re: Test or Wait? (after IUI/IVF)
I have and I'm going to tell you this:
DO NOT DO IT.
It will only make you nuts!! If it's positive and you had a trigger shot, you'll wonder if it's just the HCG. If it's negative you'll just be depressed and wonder if it's just too early. You'll make it so much worse.
For your sanity, try to avoid doing it.
Good luck!!!!
I did it yesterday and it ruined my whole day.

Re: Test or Wait? (after IUI/IVF)
I always did because I had no willpower. I would wait until it was close to my 2 week bloodwork, like a day or two before so I knew the trigger shot was out of my system. I did drive myself a little crazy though. I also wanted to be prepared if it was a BFN. The nurses always called with the results when I was at work and it was easier to know if was probably going to be a BFN.

Re: Test or Wait? (after IUI/IVF)
I tested like a maniac.
Got the Wondfo Cheapies and went to town. I would test out trigger and continue to test. Was it healthy? Hell no. But it's just what I needed to do to get through the 2WW.
My advice - wait until at least 10dpo to start testing. 12 DPO will most likely be the telltale day. If it were me, I'd be testing already LoL Bad influence here.
Good Luck!

Re: Test or Wait? (after IUI/IVF)
For me I test. It's the only thing I have control over so it makes me feel better dumb I know! With that said I usually start at 9dpo, so 4dp5dt this month for me! It assures my trigger is out and acts as a baseline.
No way I could wait to get the results from a phone call I would have a major breakdown.

Re: Test or Wait? (after IUI/IVF)
I also tested like crazy. I tested very early on to get a negative to make sure trigger was out and then tested like crazy a couple days after... either way it will drive you crazy!! Choose wisely!

Test or Wait? (after IUI/IVF)
It really depends on the person. I didn't the first two times and was so upset when I got the call it was negative. The last one I did text and was negative so it wasn't such a shock when they called me. I am doing another IVF soon and I think I will test beforehand just because that call is not fun.

Re: Test or Wait? (after IUI/IVF)
Thank you all so much. My appointment is Saturday at 8am. I think I'll test before I go so if I'm not pregnant it won't hit me as hard when I get the call.

Re: Test or Wait? (after IUI/IVF)
I always started testing a week after IUI because I wanted to ensure that the trigger shot was out of my system. But my last medicated cycle was a chemical and it was such a mind eff watching that second line disappear. Next time, I am testing the day I go in for beta.

Re: Test or Wait? (after IUI/IVF)
Yes. I took Lupron for trigger which doesn't give a false positive, so no reason not to go in prepared. I only tested the day of or the day before bw.

Test or Wait? (after IUI/IVF)
IUI- Yes. IVF- NO. I always had my RE leave a message on my voicemail so I could listen to it in private and take in the news.

Test or Wait? (after IUI/IVF)
With iui I always go my period days before my blood test. But I would have tested if I knew the trigger was out of my system. Ivf I'm 9dp5dt , my blood test should be Wednesday and I tested this morning. I just couldn't wait but in my head it's not official until I go to the dr

I always did. I was too impatient... I bought wondfo HPTs so I didn't waste money on expensive tests.
