Re: Island Tree school district? ?
Levittown is a big district with two middle schools, two high schools , and many elementary schools. School taxes are high in a Levittown school district.
Island Trees is a small school district (1 middle and 1 high school) that pulls in from parts of Levittown, Seaford, and Bethpage. Island Trees elementary schools are on the Princeton Plan, meaning the kids are assigned to schools based on grade, not geographic neighborhood. Everyone in the lower grades in the district goes to one school, and the upper elementary grades go to another. School taxes are low in Island Trees compared to neighboring districts.
You may want to check out sites like greatschools.org and schooldigger.com, as well as a Newsday rankings, and the school district websites, to get a sense of what would be a better fit for you and your family.
