cost of day care
I'm paying $265 per week, but that's less than the norm since I work for the govt and get a little bit of a discount. It's full time, 8:30-5:30, 5 days a week.
Most places were quoting me over $300 a week.

Re: cost of day care
We use a small, licensed day care. Although we pay a different rate since we are PT, the FT weekly rate is 150. Not sure what the infant rate is.

Can someone recommend an in house or big facility day care in Nassau specifically near the coliseum that they love?

$1350/mo for one kid FT. It was more when DC was in the infant room, I want to say 1450/closer to $1500/mo.

In Bay Shore. It's generally the owner and 2 assistants. Sometimes just one depending on how many infants she has at the time. I've been using them since my older LO was 1. Super convenient for PT care. She charges me hourly, 8 for DS(will be 5 once potty trained) and 5 for DD.

$265 per week for an in-home licensed daycare for 5 days/7a-5:30p. The rate for me does not change the entire time my DD is there. As an infant, I brought diapers, formula and baby food. Once she started eating solids the daycare provided everything for me. She also potty trained my DD. They really are a god-send and I don't know what I would do without them.
Can you send me info on who you use, thanks

DS is in FT daycare, $350/week, and that's just base, I think I'm going to need to do extended hours soon (after 6pm pick up) and that will add another $100/month.

google OCFS (nys office of children and family services). Then search for child care. You can look up licensed facilities (in-home and centers) this way via zip code.

Re: cost of day care
Price will likely change as your child gets older. In a typical daycare, infant rooms are the most expensive. Around 15 months they will transition to a toddler room and the price will likely go down. Same thing when they enter preschool at age 3. So what someone quotes you may not be close to what you might pay for an infant. Best thing to do is look now. You'll have to book your spot ahead of time no doubt. You'll get a better idea. When we looked we were quoted anywhere from 300-500 a week.

Re: cost of day care
I started to do some research although I plan on seriously looking in the spring... most places I called wanted anywhere $300-400/week and that was for both in home daycares and centers.
