I think there is one on Penninsula between rockville centre and hempstead. (near the gas stations)
I just found & checked their site, they are not 24 hours, but Thank You!

i second the great comments about the 24 hr hospital in west islip! we had to take hershey there a couple weeks ago and they were awesome!! the bill wasnt TOO bad either!

There's one in Commack in Jericho, a little west of Commack Rd. I've been there once and they were good in a pinch. They are very small, but in a true emergency, you might need the closest one.

Bumping because I needed this info today! I HIGHLY recommend everyone prints a copy and keeps it in their car.
(My brother saw a small dog on the side of the road this morning that someone hit & just left there.. would have been handy to have a list of local animal hospitals handy in the car. The dog is getting help & I hope he makes it   )

I'm so sorry about your dog. Thanks for posting this! It's a great idea. I'm glad to hear about the one in Selden. My aunt lives out there with her 2 dogs and 3 cats.
I've recently been to the Elmhurst Animal Emergency Hospital and they were excellent there. Here's the info for any of the Queens people here:

FYI - Nassau Animal Emergency Group in Westbury, while wonderful, is NOT open 24 hours, 7 days a week. It is open nights and 24 hours on the weekends and holidays.

24 hour Animal Hospitals
West Hills (on Jericho just west of route 110) is a great vet and they have a 24-hour hospital. They have a dr on premises 24-hours, not just an on-call like a lot of other places. I love it there and my dog oddly enough likes going there too :)

Thanks! Thankfully pumpkin is doing just fine. That night she had gotten into the garbage and I had just thrown out a lot of fudge left over from the holidays. She had thrown up a lot but I was still concerned about the amount of chocolate she ate. Rushed her to an animal hospital at 3am and they gave her charcoal and got her to throw up more. Turned out she ate a whole bunch of other stuff out of the garbage that I didn't even realize (like old chicken, foil and a tea bag) so it was a very good thing we brought her in! thanks for thinking of us!

We just got a puppy and have been going there! So far we really like it!! And the 24 hour is a bonus! God forbid a problem in the middle of the night it's nice to have a place we know rather than a random vet
