I believe he was being driven by a car service and was a back seat passenger. I think most people in that position probably wouldn't be wearing a seatbelt.

I don't know anyone that wears a seatbelt while in a cab. Obviously people should, but not many do. They also said speed was a factor. Speed has been an issue every time I'm in a cab or car service in NYC. I hate that they bring this up each time they bring up his death. It's amost like they're blaming him because he wasn't wearing a seatbelt. It was a tragic accident.

I agree about the seat belt. The driver also had 9 license suspenions and the use of 1 arm after a failed suicide attempt in the 90's. A coworker also warned the bosses of his erratic driving because passengers were complaining. This guy never should've been behind the wheel!

Very sad. When will people realize that seatbelts save lives? I always wear my seatbelt in a cab. Shame that so many don't.
