Re: Anyone high-risk at Winthrop?
I am - LOVE Dr. Rafael. He helped me through my last pregnancy and was SO great. I am now seeing Dr. Kinzler and Dr. Muscat. Such a better experience than my original OB GYN that I had for DD #1. I hope you never have to deal with it - but I thought the NICU was great as well.

Do you mind sharing your experience; what made you high-risk and need the NICU the first time around? I have a slight separation between my chorion-amniotic layer, leaving me at risk for premature delivery and also there's a floating amniotic band which we need to monitor stays away from baby (fear of entanglement). so nerve-wrecking. I see Dr Rafael weekly he's so awesome; supportive has best bedside manner and is reassuring, this is my 2nd pregnancy and I had no issues at all with my first-- how you take it for granted!

Re: Anyone high-risk at Winthrop?
Not pregnant now but I had a high risk delivery with DD. I came down with preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome and had an emergency c section at 34 weeks. Dr. Rafael and his team monitored me for almost a week after DD was born and they were all awesome. I figure if I am high risk for my next pregnancy I would definitely go to him because I loved him that much.

Hi! I am. I go for weekly monitoring as well. Dr. Chavez is amazing! They are all great though. The techs, the receptionists...everyone!

I love Dr. Chavez! I had to have some pre-natal testing done and he was so nice to me. He was so accommodating, gave me his cell phone number and texted me the results after hours because he k new I was nervous.

I had pre-E and HELLP as well - emergency C-section at 32 weeks, 5 days. 19 days in the NICU but it all worked out fine in the end. Good luck! It is scary but I think you are going with a good team.
