OB recommendations
I am in need of recommendations for a new OB/GYN. I am posting on this board, rather than the pregnancy board, because I've come to discover that you can love your OB throughout the pregnancy, then have a problem with them or the hospital at the delivery (as was the case for myself and others that I know). So I figured I'd ask those of you who had a good experience! I am already 4 months pregnant with child #2- I went back to my original OB for the time being but would like to switch ASAP. I would prefer a female and someone who delivers at a hospital with a level 3 NICU if possible (Winthrop, LIJ, perhaps there are others). I was not thrilled with Manhasset hospital, so I would prefer to avoid it. Thanks!!!

Dr Elana Kastner at Winthrop-- fantastic. Their NICU is great; wait-time at her office is a little long because she gives her patients so much time. no rush with you at all. goodluck!

OB recommendations
NICU (from personal experience) at LIJ Katz (not north shore, new hyde park) was incredible! I see Dr. Bashian, but I've seen the other doctors in her on call rotation, and really loved Dr. Wolfson. He prepped me for my emergency c-section and was really fantastic. Dr. Bashian actually performed my c-section (timing just worked out perfectly) and I've had an incredible recovery. I am 3 months PP and saturday night at my brother's wedding I danced and moved like I never have before (like woah), and my scar is beautiful. DS was in NICU for 5 days and the staff there was amazing, I cannot say enough nice things about the nurses and lactation consultants.
My bff delivered at Winthrop and I was so unimpressed, in fact I was VERY disappointed for her. I was shocked by how poor her care was compared to what I received. She had NO time with the LC, and they discharged the baby way too early considering the child was severely jaundiced and was admitted back there the day after and was under bilirubin lighting for the day. I was very surprised as I had always heard good things about Winthrop.... this was just this past May.
