girl name help

We were told at our last sono that we are having a girl... I have zero girl names that I love or that stick out to me. However I was thinking the name Paige is pretty, but my last name is one syllable, so I am not sure if that would sound silly pairing it with a 1 syllable first name. Thoughts?

Also if anyone wants to share any suggestions on names they love that would be great. My DS is named Liam so it doesn't really have to be Irish as well, but I guess its just something to keep in mind. TIA!

I think it depends on how the name would go. I don't think one syllable sounds bad. Say it was Paige Ann Smith. That flows.

I love the first name Paige (I have a 2 syllable last name) but am having such a hard time figuring out a middle name that sounds good with it. Because its such a short sounding, 1 syllable name, I feel like I need a longer middle name, rather than a short one (i.e. I don't like Paige Ann or Paige Rose). I think right now our front-runner is Paige Elizabeth but I'm still not sure I love it.

I just had twins and named my daughter Paige. I love that name! I especially like that it's a nice, normal name, but it's not super common.

Thanks for all of the great suggestions.

I do think we are leaning more toward Paige at this point. Of course there will always be people with negative comments... I mentioned something to my brother's girlfriend about the name who told me she doesn't like it and thinks of a "page in a book".. now I know why people don't reveal names until after the baby is born!

This is the exact reason I don't share with family or friends! Everyone has their opinion and guess what it's none of their business. Paige is beautiful and if you love it and dh does too, that's all that matters!

Pick what you want and tell nobody! Just continue to say "idk we have a couple in mind but we are open to suggestions" so that people stop prying you for names and just tell you what they like lol.. Everyone likes different names and you won't get everyone to like what you like. I love the name Paige though, it's very pretty

Re: girl name help

DD is Paige Evelyn, we have a single syllable last name. I think her names flows well.

We are having a boy this time, but Fiona was our choice for a girl this time around.

Also, I agree, choose the name but don't tell anyone - that's what we did and it kept any unwanted comments/thoughts away :)

ITA with everyone, DO NOT tell anyone unless you want to get royally pissed off every time you tell people the name. We learned our lesson the first time.

This time we aren't telling and just saying "Since everyone knows the sex, we'll have the name be the surprise"

cc naming:
You have plenty of time....
With DD, there were lots of arguments cc her name (between me & DH).
AT THE HOSPITAL, after she was born, I knew what her name should be. It was 100%, I told DH & now she personifies the name.
