bathtime help! 3 year old
my 3 yr old used to love to take a bath or shower but it's been a nightmare lately. screaming, crying, it's awful (for us and for our nanny). he screams bloody murder when we wash and comb his hair. he also freaks out about getting his haircut - he's in dire need, but it's just plain torture for him and i haven't been able to do it - i keep saying that i now understand why kate hudson's son's hair was so long...lol i'm hoping it's just a phase... anyone have any advice? TIA

At 2.5 dd started screaming with baths. The only thing that eventually got her out of that habit was bath paints. She got a set for Christmas and loved it and then seemed to forget that she hated baths at all.

This exactly!
It's a phase but the bath paints is what helped us too.

I use bath paint or crayons to keep her busy. Extra bubbles in the bath. Extra toys. And depending on how verbal your dc is, ask if they are scared. I was going through this when my 2.5 year old since she was 2 on and off. She hated the bath so we tried showers, she loved that briefly then hated it. Then she loved the bath and again now hates it. So I asked her if she was scared. She said yes. So I went through everything with her. Are you scared of the bubbles? No, are you scared of the soap when I wash you? no etc Are you scared of the washing your hair? Yes Turned out she was afraid of the shower head when I wash her hair. She wanted to like have me hold her in a way where I can wash her hair (hard to explain) but it solved it. For now at least. So maybe try communicating and finding out whats scaring your dc.
