Races and fundraising
Does anyone know of any groups similar to team in training? I'd love to fundraise for my next raise, and just wondering if their are other groups like it, maybe something I may have more of a connection to. I love the idea of meeting with a group to train, but I could always form my own group.

Is there an actual team, where you meet like once a week and train together?

You meet weekly for training in nYC. It's an actual team with great coaches and tons of support. Runs are usually in Central Park but not always. To so of info on their site if you want more specifics. They bus you to the strt, they have hotel rooms for those who raise $7,000. They offer incentive prizes random weeks throughout the fundraising process. And tons of crowd support especially by the hospital. Truly an emotional moment when you run past Sloan and the doctors, nurses, and some patients are cheering for you when you want to be cheering for the. And their outstanding work.

Most charities have them. A friend ran the NYC marathon for autism.

This. And there are many little teams within it. You can form your own too with your friends. I am captain of one for the NYC Half and just had a fundraiser for it on Sat. There are 5 of us on my team and its been such a great experience so far.

Ditto! I ran my first every marathon with Fred's this past fall (hence the profile pic). I live right by Central Park, so was able to run with the team for most of the weekend long runs. The coaches were super nice and the runs are great and varied. We did one over the GWB and then another to Coney Island.
I made a few friends through the training, and we're all running the NYC half together.
More importantly, I chose to fundraise for pediatric cancer research and was able to visit the pediatrics floor at MSKCC the day after the marathon. It was such an incredible/heart wrenching experience to meet all the beautiful children.
