Rory's birth - 3/1/15 @ 41w5d
I woke up with contractions at 245AM sat 2/28. after an hour of consistent 6-7 min apart contractions I woke up DW and we tracked them for another 2 hrs @ 4-5 min apart. I took a shower and we went to the hospital (stopping @ burger king on the way) just in time for shift change at 7 AM
After 4 hrs, they decided to admit me based on high blood pressure even though i was in early labor- but it sure did feel like full labor and it was timed exactly like the dr had said real labor was.... the resident Dr at stonybrook was nasty but the dr from our practice was great!
At the 13th hour, I caved and got an epidural. i couldnt move and i wasnt progressing, so i felt it was necessary. I still used hypnobabies techniques to help me get through the epidural insertion and relax enough to sleep later- even when i was 10 cm!
After that, my "plans" went further out the window- i had to get pitocin, get my water broken, get a catheter, got an internal monitor, didnt get to "bleed out" the umbilical cord
33 hrs, 1 hr 15 min pushing, and the 4th Dr shift change later (i think 3? nurses), Dr Van Sise delivered Rory at 1129AM 3/1/15 8lb 6oz 21"
Rory had to be in NICU for monitoring (due to various potential issues from being late and merconium) but is a healthy boy!! I am Bf-ing and it is going slow but steady so far :)

Congratulations! He's adorable!
I had a similar experience at SB that my only complaints were with the OB residents. One I really didn't like and the other I liked but my doctors weren't thrilled with. Everyone else was fantastic.
