YES, the pioneer woman baked ziti, GREAT, it has a tiny kick. I omit the sausage bc I never eat sausage but Im sure its better with it in. If you try let me know what you think. enjoy

I don't really follow a recipe for baked ziti. I don't think it's one of those things that needs a recipe, just throw everything in to taste and make it cheesy.
I make my sauce, sometimes with no meat and sometimes with chop meat OR sausage. I like to use rigatoni or penne regate for my ziti, I just don't care for smooth ziti noodles. I cut up my mozzarella into chunks and mix it in with the ricotta, an egg or two, parsley, grated cheese, salt and pepper. Then I do a layer of sauce, layer of pasta, big globs of the the cheese mixture and then repeat until everything is used up. Then I usually do shredded mozzarella on the top of the ziti and bake about an 1hr or so at 350 or until it's golden and bubbly. It's delicious EVERY time.............delicious, cheesy goodness!
