2 strollers?

Hi Girls,

I'm getting mixed opinions on whether or not I should register for 2 strollers.

We are registered for the City Mini Elite.

But some friends/family told me I may also want a lightweight stroller, so I also registered for a Chicco KeyFit Caddy Lightweight Aluminum Infant Car Seat Carrier Stroller.

I just don't want more stuff than I really need, and my registry already has a ton on it!

A friend told me when I go shopping I can just put the car seat into the shopping cart and there's no need for the lightweight stroller.

Just wondering what thoughts were and what you girls are doing.

You mean, you are registering for the snap n go like thing for the chicco car seat?

If so, yes, IMO, you do need both things.

You will not use the regular stroller until the kid is out of the infant car seat (around 6 months). The car seat attachment on the bigger stroller will often cost the same amount as the snap n go attachment.

If you are talking about another stroller, I'd wait & see.

We didn't register for a snap n go and only the city mini. We ended up buying the snap n go when DD was about 4-5 weeks old. It was a necessity For us.

Definitely get the lightweight frame. It was one of my favorite baby items!

I never used a snap and go and never missed it. Waste is money in my opinion but it depends on your lifestyle.

Get the snap n go one and another. I started using the other one once they could sit up

I bought the adaptor for DD's Britax b safe car seat for my city mini gt. I did not see the need for two strollers or a snap and go. I did not like how the snap and go handled- I found it much easier to just use the city mini gt.

If your car seat can snap into your stroller, I don't think you needa snap n go.

We had two strollers- Uppa Baby Vista and Britax B Agile. Honestly, strollers take such a beating and get so gross that having two worked for us. My UB is completely gross at this point and even though i have washed it like 6 times, its just not new anymore. Since then, we have been using the Britax a lot more. For our second child, we are upgrading to two new strollers, getting rid of the old ones.

Here's what I did, and in retrospect it worked out perfectly and I'd do it again.

I got the uppababy Cruz and the car seat adapter so it was used like a snap n go (the stroller seat pops off, adapter goes on, then you just use it like you would a snap n go). It has sturdier wheels and a MUCH bigger basket than the classic snap n go which saved me in the early days when I'd just load it up with grosseries and it fit a ton.

These days, the stroller we use is the uppababy gluxe (umbrella stroller). I like it, but I admittedly don't have much to compare it to. The only other one we considered was the mcclarren but I liked this one better.

We got the chicco key fit which is a regular stroller but the baby seat attaches. A lot of people get the city mini and get the appropriate attachment to do the same.

We also got the bob for running which to us was totally different than a regular stroller and needed.

When ds was about 2, we succumbed to the umbrella stroller purchase b/c it was just lighter and easier.

For us, we also liked having a stroller in each car.

You won't want to wake your baby up when he/she is sleeping in the car to put into a stroller from the car seat, so you'll either want a snap n go or an adapter so you can just snap the car seat into your City Mini. IMO, you do not also need a lightweight stroller (ie: umbrella) if you have the City Mini.

Snap & GO is a necessity IMO -- I used mine more than my regular stroller. I would also get a GOOD umbrella stroller that reclines. I almost feel like my travel system stroller was a waste. I used it like 5 times in 8 months before Sandy destroyed it, and I never looked to get another one.

I just used my uppa baby Cruz with the car seat attachment. I didnt find it too big. I could not justify spending money on a second stroller.

If you don't get it for your shower, buy/sell groups on facebook always have them cheap.

We have the Uppa Baby Cruz - and got the adapter for it for the Keyfit30 - so it works as both a snap and go and a regular stroller. No complaints at all!
