Toshiba smart tv & Netflix use
We purchased a new Tv that was on clearance, it was a great deal for a 50 inch smart tv. We were excited to finally use Netflix to watch shows we have never have time for. We got to to watch a couple of weeks until a Netflix message that after calling Netflix explains that our Netflix version is out of date. It's a sdk4.0.3 and should be (I was told) DSL 4.0.6 or higher.
I was told to call Toshiba for the update and was told they don't have one yet I was told to register the tv in which I didn't have the receipt to do this than asked are they not updating my tv because it's not registered? She said no but said she was going to try "something else" if it was registered.
I'm annoyed I don't know everything about this technical world we live in. We just signed up $8 a month for Netflix should I cancel now ? Is Toshiba a ****** smart tv brand? What do I do? Did you have to do this with your smart tv?Right now I'm trying to find my PC Richards receipt to call them back.

I love all the new technology but hate all the update and compatibility stuff!!!

I had issues with mine until I realized my baby monitor was interfering with the wireless Internet connection.
It might be something like that.

Not the "correct" answer but buy a chromecast (30 bucks) or amazon stick (40 bucks) as these devices are more common to get all updates.
My issue with the TV's, they are traditional slower to get to and same problem as you, don't get the updates quick.

I have a a Toshiba smart TV but have had no issues with Netflix... As a pp mentioned, you could just buy an amazon fire tv stick.

If you know the card and ballpark amount and time you purchased the TV, PC Richards keeps copies of their receipts. Call the store and see if they can help you. They were able to email me a copy of my receipt.

Re: Toshiba smart tv & Netflix use
Thank you I was able to get a copy in email and we resolved the issue by performing a factory reset of the tv and re entering our networ info. I was very close to buying a roku or chromecast but the Netflix rep told me to hold off on that he truly believed it was a reset matter and not even a version issue which the first Netflix rep said
I'm just glad it works now, we love it!
