Re: X-POST summer reading skills program???
I did this program last year with my DS. It did teach me skills on how to read with my son and different ways to keep him engaged. He did improve his reading at the end of the class session. They also supplied two games that he loved. I do think it is pricey.
What grade is your DC in? The first hour they had us work with out child and the second hour they worked in a workbook and the instructor reads a story to the kids. The only thing my son new alot of the site words and letter blends they went over. I did love the materials they gave out.

Thank you for the information ! My daughter will be entering kindergarten in September I wanted to try and give her a head start because I know how quickly the curriculum can move Do you think the class would be good for this reason ?

Re: X-POST summer reading skills program???
To be honest I wouldn't spend that much money to prepare her for Kindergarten. I can send you the two games they gave us and a DVD of the reading concepts they gave us. There was assisted reading and independent reading. My son out grew them so we don't need it and I already watched the DVD. The materials were for Kindergarten going to first but most of it was letter blends and sight words they went over through out Kindergarten.
You use it to help her this summer or decide if you want to sign her up. I can send it over the weekend if you like. It's just sitting in my desk.
