Anyone familiar with the new healthcare laws regarding emergency care and balanced billing?
I'm being balance billed for emergency care that I received at a hospital in the emergency room from an out of network dr..I thought new laws protected the consumer against that now? Does anyone know where/if I can find any info on this???

Balanced billing depends on the state b some stars allow some prohibit and others are somewhere in the middle.

If your coverage is through your employer I would start with them if not go your carrier and see what they suggest.ultimately you Meyer need to go to the NYS Insurance Dept.
