Recs for Midwives
Can you recommend your midwive? I contacted the Gaia group but they're booked til Oct I talked to Barbara Charles but didn't get the best vibes from her, and Stony Brook Midwives, there are too many midwives in the practice, I just don't want to deliver with someone I've never seen before and I feel that would happen with SB Midwives

Re: Recs for Midwives
Melanie Sumersille. She delivers in Wnthrop. Her office is in Garden City and her partner OB is very pro natural birth if that's what you want.
FWIW I used the SB Midwives for my younger daughter's birth. (They have a very high VBAC success rate, which is what I was going for). Yes they're a large group, but I liked the fact that they worked in shifts - I thought it would give me more time. In smaller OB groups, I feel like you play "beat the clock" after awhile. I thought the SB Midwives were fantastic and loved the hospital.

I second Melanie Sumersille. SHe carried for me for both kids. I had a csection with Dr Plancher and then an absolutely amazing VBAC with Melanie. FM me with any specific questions
