Possible endometriosis - dr. recommendations
This is a long shot...but is anyone aware of any drs that can "diagnose" endo without doing a lap? I went to Kofinas, and one of the doc's saw what he thought was very tiny endometrium on one my ovaries but he said he cannot confirm it without going the lap route which my DH just completley refused.
So here we are 1 year later, 1 hsg done, with 1 possible blocked tube, and questioning endometriosis even though I don't have that many symptoms. I got pregnant right away with DD, so before we throw in the towel, I just wanted to see if there was anyone out there who would be able to confirm endometriosis without going in.
Thanks!

I wish there was a way to diagnose endometriosis without doing a lap but that is the only way. It can be suspected you have it but only with a real biopsy from a lap that is the only way to confirm. I just went thru this. Were you sent for a cat scan or mri? Did they do blood work? You can ask for a test called a ca-125, it will not diagnose endo but if the levels are high it can indidcate it even more. I had every test possible to avoid the lap surgery but did it anyway. For me it was about the pain and the mri showed masses everywhere (ovary, appendix, colon, bladder....I can go on and on. good luck with what you decide to do, it you do the lap its not the worst thing in the world.

why is your DH against laproscopic procedure? He's not the one having it done.
Its really the only way to test for it. My mother had it done years ago. a botched DNC after a miscarriage is what set off the chain of events that led her there. Its not a terrible procedure and I remember her recovery being oK.

Thanks girls! I will ask for the ca-125 test and see what Kofinas says about it. And as for DH's input.. but we make decisions together, especially when the procedure is elective and I'm conisdering it based just a few symptoms. It will affect us as a family.
eta: no mri, no scan nothing.. it was a pelvic sono and kofinas' doc saw something very tiny. I think an MRI is due then.
