So I am 38. Just went to Dr. Zapantis because I'm going to use donor sperm to try to become a mom.
I can do Unmedicated IUI or IVF. I did IVF when I was married (didn't work because of sperm issues). Does anyone regret doing IUI? Do I just go straight to IVF? TIA!
ETA..... I have coverage so cost isn't a concern. I will only try for a year and then just move on. I don't produce a lot of follicles, even medicated.

Out of everything I tried I actual had implantation with my IUI unlike IVF where nothing even implanted or even worked!
You never know, try it and see, it is cheaper and if it works you saved $$ and time. GL
to answer, I don't regret my IUI.

I did Iui and it didn't work. I regret wasting a year on it. IVF wasn't successful in the end either :( but I wish I had just gone to IVF.

Re: Opinions welcome
I conceived DS first try on an IUI with 50mg clomid.
Im trying for # 2 and the first Iui with clomid and didnt work; I just did another with Clomid, trigger shot day before. We'll see.
the iui is not expensive so it might be a good option to try first with a small dose of clomid.

I would get some testing done fist then decide. If your egg count or quality is not great I would say ivf. If that seems ok then maybe IUI (but I would set a number of times you will do it before you go to ivf to set your expectations) good luck!!

What does Zapantis think? I would do 1 or two IUI cycles then move onto IVF since coverage is not a concern. Fingers crossed for you

If you don't have any issues, there's no reason to go straight to IVF. Give IUI a few tries. IVF is a big leap, and probably unnecessary if you aren't dealing with IF.

SO I have done a lot! 6 IUIS, 3 IVFS, 1 FET. The last IVF finally worked. My insurance required 6 IUIs before IVF. If this wasn't the case I would have done 3 IUIs and then moved to IVF. If I was you I would try a few IUIs and then if they don't work move on to IVF. Dr. Z was my first RE and he wanted to move on after 3 IUIs but we couldn't bc of the insurance. GL
