keratin question
I am due to get the keratin treatment on saturday but we just put in a salt water pool and I am hearing that it will ruin the keratin. I don't want to waste $175. Is there a product I can use or anything to help it last while in salt water often or should I just cancel my appointment and deal with yucky frizzy hair all summer?

Where did you get your keratin treatment? Were you happy with it?

Re: keratin question
the salt water is going to kill the keratin. if you don't get it wet in the pool or wash it out with clean water as soon as you come out of the pool you may be ok. I wouldn't chance it. I don't get my hair wet in a pool or beach in the summer when i get the keratin.

I always do keratin, and I just try my best not to get my hair soaked.

Yeah I do not want to worry about not getting mt hair wet. We spent a fortune on our yard and I want to enjoy it with my kids. Oh well. Thanks

Re: keratin question
Ugh really this blows, I just started doing keratin over relaxers. I can't see myself not enjoying my summer, so I guess my hair will be ruined

Re: keratin question
I don't get keratin but i try to avoid getting my hair wet in pools because it's so drying anyway and it kills the blonde.
I put my hair up and just don't go underwater- getting splashed by the kids here and there shouldn't kill it, just dunking it under would.
Also- read this on my pool company website - Keep in mind that salt pools are nothing like what we swim in when we're in the ocean. In fact, salt pools have 1/10 the level of salt that an ocean has.
So unless you plan to stick your head underwater every single time you go in, you should be ok.
I never fully dunk my head and I never feel i am missing out on anything.

keratin question
if you wet your hair with regular water first you should be fine and make sure to rinse after getting out of the salt water. This is what my hair lady who does my keratin told me, and I have been doing it for years.
