Best all inclusive in Carribbean or Mexico?
We'd like to take our first all inclusive vacation next January and are starting to plan(and save lol) So these are our musts: GREAT kids activities and kids club, great food and entertainment, family friendly but also good for adults. Safe area as well

I heard great things about Dream La Romana in DR.
This was my recent response to a thread on the parenting board asking about all-inclusives in DR:
A couple of years ago we went to Dream La Romana. They definitely had a lot of family friendly activities and was overall very family friendly. The resort itself was nice - nothing over the top luxurious, but very nice. The food was pretty good - the buffet was decent and some of the other restaurants were really good. In general, I am not a fan of all-inclusive resorts (but it what worked for us at the time), so I don't think I would ever rave about one, but we all had a very nice time time and the place was pretty nice.
We really did have a great trip. The beach is beautiful and I enjoyed the pools and swim up bars . Like I said above, I'm generally just not a huge fan of all-inclusive resorts, but given that, yes, I would recommend Dreams. (The only thing I was not aware of was how far it was from the airport - but, when we went, they were building a new highway and our driver said that once that was completed, getting to the resort would be much much quicker. I think the highway is probably completed by now)

Best all inclusive in Carribbean or Mexico?
I love the Moon Palace in Cancun. It's not on the blue side of the water but it is so secluded that it makes up for it. It is huge and there are tons of places to bike around. The food and service are great. We went there for our honeymoon and went back for an anniversary trip.
There are shows going on each evening and activities going on by the pools during the day. The staff will help you book day trips too with the credits that you get. XCaret is supposed to be great!

Beaches. Jamaica! I heard Turks was great too but we loved Jamaica as it was smaller and the entertainment was excellent. There are two and I heard the one in montego bay is not as nice.

Club Med- Punta Cana. All DD wanted was to go to the kids club and eat every meal with them (we wouldn't let her eat EVERY meal ) I even had fun on the trapeze!

Re: Best all inclusive in Carribbean or Mexico?
Dreams Riviera Cancun. I went a few years ago for my honey moon and there were kids EVERYWHERE lol. I can't attest for the kid activities, but from the number of them that I saw, I'm assuming the resort is kid friendly.
The resort itself is beautiful with several pools, beach, spa, and restaurant. DH and I did some excursions to the Mayan ruins, so that may be fun for your kids too.
Good luck, I know its tough to pick a place.

Re: Best all inclusive in Carribbean or Mexico?
The Reserve @ Paradisus Palma Real in DR. It's 5 star but within reason. We went the week of Thanksgiving & for a family master suite with concierge service we paid $3300 plus airfare.
In the end it was so worth it. The kids had a fabulous time. Hubby & I had been there prior without kids
