If you had your kitchen totally ripped out and renovated...
How long did it take and how long were you left without the use of your stove and sink?
I know there are variations and every case is different... They are beginning Monday; I am anticipating 4-6 weeks from start to finish and I would like to estimate how long I'll be bbqing, eating take-out, and throwing myself on the mercy of friends and family

I can let you know in a few weeks, they just gutted our entire kitchen today.
Funny, it took them 4 hours to demolish the entire thing, but I'm guessing it will be at least 3 - 4 weeks. I'm being optimistic!!!
I'll keep you posted
Our fridge is on the deck
ETA: Oh, I see you're starting Monday, we will go through it together

We did it in 2 shifts. The first we gutted & re-did the floor, then we reattached the stove and sink, and a year later we did the rest. Were we to have done it all in one shot, my guess would have been 5-6 weeks. But this was a MASSIVE project.

Yes, I'm thinking most likely 6...
So am I to understand that for the duration of the project--no matter how long it takes--I will be without the use of my stove and sink? That's my main question, really.

We did most ourselves. New insulation sheetrock. We changed vents, electrical, windows, doors and piping and were done in 2 weeks.

No as we were able to use ours before the end of the 4 weeks as they tried to get those in as quick as possible.

Cabinets were ripped out end of June, project wasn't done until the end of August, but we had a stove, sink, fridge for all but three weeks. It should not have taken that long but we got a deal w our contractor and knew it would take longer than normal. We also had to redo all floors on the first floor which added a week to the project.

If you have all your materials there, it should be quick. If you are waiting for cabinets or tile then it could take longer.
