RE recommendation in the Stonybrook area? (and back story to a missing period)
Hi there - asking for a friend. She lives in Port Jeff Station and may need to see an RE. She is under the care of an OB but I think she needs a 2nd opinion for her situation.
Long story short she had a missed miscarriage at 6 weeks and her body didn't let go of the pregnancy. She had a d&c at 12 weeks. It has been 4 months since her D&C and she hasn't received her period back. Her OB just put her on the pill for a week to help induce it. This sounds wonky to me. Her lining looked ok - a tad thin and she is ovulating but no period. Why not estrogen to build lining or provera to induce? Anyway it didn't work and now the dr thinks going on the pill for a month will help her? Can someone explain this? Doesn't the pill thin you even more?
I am worried about scaring from the D&C and Ashermans syndrome. WWYD.

Long Island IVF has an office in Stony Brook. It's just west of Nichols on 347. I don't know much about lining and the pill but how do they know she was ovulating? I would be concerned. It does sound like an RE might be better able to figure out what's going on.

I heard this is the case (the pill) to help get your period back. My re is in woodbury so not sure if that is too far. Good luck
