Gender revealing party ideas
I have seen people doing a cake and others doing balloons for their gender (or sex) revealing party.
Any other ideas I can do?
Finding out sex of baby next week.
Thanks!

How exciting! We did the cake and it was so much fun! Other ideas besides the cake and balloons in a box that I've heard of is, breaking a pinata, and most recently my coworker's daughter did a gender reveal where she popped a black balloon and inside of that balloon were all little blue balloons.

We did cupcakes where the filling was pink! I liked it better than the cake bc with the cake once you cut it and take the knife out, the color frosting will be on the knife! Unless you have the actual cake dyed pink or blue! We were also thinking of doing the box filled with balloons!

Cute, and good idea. We may do a small reveal, just for us and our DC. I like the cupcake idea. Did you order them from a bakery?

Gender revealing party ideas
we did a cake and it was SO MUCH fun! we were team green for our first 2 kids and I LOVED not knowing the sex. it just added to the excitement of the big day.
anyhow, we were team green for baby ( our 3rd) but somewhere around 30 weeks I was going through all sorts of anxiety about everything, name, which hand me down clothes to get ready to be washed, the nursery room- well, dh convinced me to find out.
I handed the envelope with the gender to the bakery and was very specific about not revealing the gender to me or my husband.
we had close family and close friends over. I ordered a hero, made a salad, bought pink and blue plates/napkins and the cake was dessert.
all went perfect! I had my kids slice the cake and I was SHOCKED when I saw pink on the inside! I thought I was having a boy. it was a great day. I love gender reveals!! it was nice b/c it didn't take away from the surprise in the delivery room like I thought it would. I think us not knowing, made it extra special and fun for everyone.

this is sooo nice! I was team green for both my girls and I loved it also! This time (our 3rd) we decided to find out. I am having anxiety as well with names, buy new clothes (if boy), use the other girl clothes (if girl), paint the room a certain color, etc. So we will be finding out next week...sooo excited!!

i was going to do a small reveal for my immediate family and was going to do cake pops. everyone would get one and we would all bite in at the same time. the cake inside would have been dyed pink or blue, and they would be covered in white with pink/blue designs and question marks.

Gender revealing party ideas
My friends just had a gender reveal party, and they stood in the middle of their patio, and on the count of 3 all of their guests sprayed silly string on them. The silly string cans had no color on the outside, but when they sprayed everyone found out the gender (boy). It was cute and different, but definitely something you do outside.

We did balloons. It was so much fun. I got a dishwasher box from sears and decorated it. From our sonogram we drove right to store with a sealed envelope and then filled and tape it closed. Best surprise ever. I did bake a pink and blue cake with cupcakes to go along with the party and got some decorations of course. I still cry when I look at the video LOL!!!!!

crashing, what about ordering Hershey bars in pink and blue wrappers (or wrap that in a generic paper) place them in a bag and have everyone pick one, count to three and have everyone unwrap at one time to reveal

People always mention the cake but I agree w/ someone below that you'd see the icing on the knife...so last year before my bff's gender reveal party, I looked up the proper way to do it so if you do a cake do it like this!!
First, you need two knives and 1 spatula. You and DH each hold your knife and each cut once down to shape your slice of cake. KEY: LEAVE THE KNIVES IN PLACE sitting in the cake and then shove the spatula under the newly formed slice. Lift the spatula together to reveal the slice without having seen the icing!

I did a cake for DDs and this is how we did it: Square cake, colored sponge, not icing and instead of making a slice (so we weren't lifting up) we just used the cake knife and chopped off a corner onto a plate! It was such an exciting moment. Good luck with your gender reveal!

Just have to say... I think it's so funny that you're "ThreeforTea" and I'm "TeaforThree" and we're both doing a gender reveal this or next week!! lol
I'm doing the cake at just a small bbq with family and friends next weekend. I'm getting "Team Boy" and "Team Girl" buttons and having pink and blue balloons, cups, plates, utensils, napkins, etc.
Me, my husband and our son will cut into the cake and see if it will be a little brother or sister!
Now, for my SON, we had a "gender reveal" baby shower! My mom and close family knew what we were having, but WE didn't! When we walked into the party, we saw everything was blue and knew we were having a BOY!

That's so cool with your gender reveal shower! Also, so funny you mentioned that because I've always wondered if the two of you noticed you had similar screen names! I gave advice above on how to properly cut the gender reveal cake so the piece of cake is what gives it away, not a dot of frosting on the knive while you're cutting so look above if you're interested!

Gender revealing party ideas
I LOVEEEE scratch offs, lol, and I found gender reveal scratch off tickets. When I *finally* get pregnant, I plan to have someone order them for me so that I don't know the gender ahead of time, and then have everyone scratch off their tickets at the same time to reveal the gender :)

This is what we did. Square cake and we cut the corner off! Also if it's a round cake just slice off a side, rather than cut a piece.
