Who's your RE?

Many ask this, including myself, so I thought maybe I could get one post regarding RE's you recommend and also those you don't!

Dr. Zapantis
Amazing bedside manner. Office staff is extremely nice and caring. Small practice so it's all one on one and never kept waiting.
Sadly I need to switch because of insurance... so started post to get more feedback on here.

Dr. San Roman. Probably one of the kindest and caring dr I've ever been to. I have never doubted his judgement once. His staff is fantastic and always extremely helpful. He's part of NSLIJ but he is the suffolk office and is the only dr you see.

I used Dr. Pena from LI IVF in West Islip. He was absolutely brilliant but his bedside manner was terrible.

Who's your RE?

Dr palter is my dr and I'm 6w pregnant. I used to go to rsony and see dr Trivax but really all the drs bc its not a 1-1 practice. He never did any of my procedures.
I love dr Palter bc of the treatment and nothing else. I feel he is very customized and looks at each case differently.

Do I need a referral to see a RE? We're going on a year of trying unsuccessfully. I can only say we tried 7 of those months but I'll be 34 and I know at 35 they say you should give yourself 6 months.

Teach, no referral needed. Just make an appointment. Try to find one close to work that has an in-house lab if you can. They'll see you in the early AM for a blood draw. They don't need to know how long you've really been trying either. Good for you for wanting to get things checked out! Good luck Chat Icon

To the OP, I recommend going to a RE where you have a doctor monitoring you every time, not a technician or nurse. Also, one that's easy for you to get to in the early AM.

I see Dr. Palter at Gold Coast IVF. Great office, wonderful staff and Dr. Palter is the only doctor so the treatment is customized. I highly recommend him.

I see Dr. Stelling at RSofNY. I am only still there because this is the only office that I can successfully get to in the mornings, and still keep working (I've been told that Pena would NOT be a good fit for me). I have not had anything like the negative experiences that others have posted about. I think it's because I only ever go to Mineola for retrievals. I really like Dr. Stelling, and the staff in West Islip are very nice and thorough. That being said, I feel like we are just doing the same thing over and over again, with no result. It might just be because of my asshole ovaries, but I owe it to myself to get a second opinion. I have an appointment with Dr. Kang at CRM on Wednesday.

Same, but want to change. I never see him because I am mostly in the Melville office. I feel like he knows nothing about my cycles. The nurses are great though.
