What did you register for that you never used?

There's a bunch of things I never used with my first! I didn't even register for a wipe warmer bc I figured if we were out it would be a cold wipe lol. I never used the cover for the cart. I used the bottle warmer for a little bit but then realized it was so much quicker in the microwave when you have a screaming baby waiting for their bottle! 3 minutes feels like forever waiting for the bottle warmer! I registered and got so many blankets and never used like half of them! I'm sure I'll think of more!

Bottle warmer
Infant carrier - used it once DS hated it.
Bouncy seat - probably used it three times, once again DS hated it.

What did you register for that you never used?

OP: just keep in mind that just because someone here didn't use something, or their baby didn't like something, doesn't mean you won't get use out of it

For example, a PP said their baby didn't like the swaddle me but mine loved it and used it every night for 4.5 months.

What did you register for that you never used?

Bottle Warmers, crib wedges, pacifiers, spasilk towels, muslin receiving blankets.
If I think of any more, I'll come back and post.

This exactly because we personally use our bottle warmer all the time and so many people said it is a waste

The bumbo seat I found useless and I hardly used the Baby Bjorn.

But I swore by the swaddle me and used it everyday for naps and nighttime until DD was 1 day shy of 5 months old. The only reason I stopped is because she was breaking out of it.

Bassinet was the big one. I put DD in it but every time she would just scream. It had all the bells and wistles (vibrated, played sounds and music, mobile with lights) and none of that was of any help. Both of my kids LOVED the Rock n Play sleeper though.

The swaddlers were also useless for us. DD hated being swaddled and DS liked it for a little while but I just used blankets.

Car window shade for the baby. I didn't realize that they were a hazard until after we had received them. I didn't use them.

I didn't make a huge registry and tried to be very practical about what I put on it. I'd say we absolutely used everything else.

Yeah these pretty much. Plus never used the swaddler, or never used the basinett (he only slept in a Rock n Play).

I know everyone has different opinions but I like to see when thee are multiple of the same.

Does anyone use BOTH a RNP and Bassinet?

See and DS uses his Bumbo all the time - we got the one with the straps so that it basically becomes a booster and it grows with the child. We bring it with us everywhere instead of taking the seat off the high chair and bringing that. It's been a life savor for the last 4 weekends.

Used neither. DS was in the pnp for 2 weeks after his first week in the nicu and then was in his crib from week 3 on.

We threw out our bassinet after baby #2. We used the RnP for both kids and even though we had the bassinet set up, it was never used. For baby #3 i'm only planning on using the RnP. The babies loved it. It helps them feel secure, they can't flip over when they're little, and it was easy to rock them back to sleep if they stirred. We used it until both DDs were around 4 months old. Its great to travel with too.

It's so different for everyone. I personally didn't register because I didn't have a baby shower. Most baby items I purchased from amazon.com. We had minimal things when we first brought DS home- Pack n Play, Swing, bottles, blankets, some clothes, nursing pillow, baby bath tub, towels, and I think that's it. Oh and a car seat. He slept in the Pack n Play until his crib came in. My cousin gave us her boppy newborn pillow. We ended up using that daily. We bought a bottle warmer when we realized we needed one. We ordered the swaddle me's when we realized we were horrible at swaddling. I'm a fan of getting what you need when you need it. I wouldn't go too crazy trying to figure it out now before you even have the baby.

I didn't bother with a bassinet bc we got the RNP. We knew we were going to put DD in her own crib within a few weeks so it would have been pointless to get both IMO.

The PNP has hardly been used.

DD wanted nothing to do with the bassinet. She slept in the RnP until 4 months.

My son hated the bassinet too! I won't even take it out this time! We actually got a rock n play for the little one to use. As far as swaddle blankets, my son hated being swaddled but I did try and swaddle him with a reg lightweight blanket so I didn't really need the actual swaddle ones. Like others have said, every baby is different ! Some babies hate the swing, meanwhile mine loved it! Doesnt mean this kid will though lol

So a RNP is ok to let the baby sleep in while I'm sleeping?
My room is next door to the baby's room - about 10 steps away from my bed - so I think it may be wasteful to get a bassinet. If I can use the RNP for the first few weeks or how ever long I plan on keeping baby in our room that would be great.

Definitely! DD used it for 5 weeks in my room until we moved her into the crib. I still have it next to my bed even though it's been 13.5 months since she's been in her own room. It now holds my clean clothes lol.

It's so funny to go through and read what some people/babies loved and what others never used. There are a number of items on here that people listed as loving that we never purchased and others that people never used that we use all the time.

Re: What did you register for that you never used?

Diaper pail... used it for maybe a month with ds#1 & that was it. I said I'd try to use it with ds#2 but so far have not & just use the regular garbage can.

Carrier so I could wear the baby... I tried with ds#1 & he would just scream when I'd put him in it... tried with ds#2 & he doesn't seem to be a fan either.

Swing... I only used it a few times with ds#1 & so far I have it set up for ds#2 & haven't really used it (ds#1 now puts his stuffed animals in it & uses it as a toy lol)... it's low to the ground so I feel like I have to bend down so much to put him in it so I end up just putting him in his RNP to nap most of the time, and he sleeps overnight in his PNP next to our bed.
