May have to switch RE after one visit...what would you do and LI IVF opinion
I went to RMA Thursday, I went to Garden city and If I knew they only do IUI 2 or 3 days a week and not open on weekends and start monitoring at 8am I don't think I would have gone. LOVED the dr, But truthfully I cant get to the city at all. It just isn't an option. The dr said she would try and not have me go to the city but cycles are unpredictable, I have gone through medical intervention to have my kids in my 1st marriage and I know how time consuming it is. she did some blood work when I was there and was supposed to go in day 3. Do I try and get an appt for the new dr for the day 3 or do the day 3 with RMA? I am due for my period today or tomorrow.
Also I am reading a lot of good reviews on Dr Brenner. does anyone have any opinions on this practice? I am nervous leaving RMA and then not liking this one.

I dont think any doctor is going to take on a new patient starting you on CD3. Most doctors would want a consultation with you first to discuss history, protocol, etc.
So you would most likely have to wait till next month anyway.
ETA Dr. Brenner is a very sweet Dr. He is well liked by many.

You can call LIIVF and tell them your situation. They may be able to squeeze you in for a consult and many times if you like the RE at the consult, they will start you on bloodwork then and there. Many offices prefer blood testing and HSG before cycles to make sure your tubes are clear for IUI so ask them about that when you call. Every office runs differently.

LI IVF is good about getting pt in and tell the them the story. Is there anyway you can make this round work and try so you don't lose a month of trying and it gives you some time to book elsewhere?

We had Dr. Brenner and he has always been nice with us. The staff at the Lake success and Melville office are friendly as well. I have nothing to complain about.

I was going to do one cycle with the other dr but they will make me go to the city if I need my IUI on a day they are not there. That is literally impossible so I don't want to waste the meds because it goes to the limit of money I have to spend. Im calling dr brenners office asap. Yes RMA told me also about the HSG as well so Going to try and do that as well.Hoping I can get in this week with dr Brenner.

if not with Brenner due to time just get in with anyone and switch to him if you want. Good luck
That was one reason I could not stay with RMA at least at this time.

I got an appointment with dr Brenner for Thursday and I am pleased to find out he even does HSG in his office and my husband can get his semen analysis there!! Just so I can get in I am going to lake success but after this they said I can go to Melville since its close to my job!! Now getting out of work for a little while since its in the day but lands up that will most likely be my day 3 so its perfect timing! also they wanted me to come in this week so I can get my HSG done this cycle to :)
I will say the dr at RMA was fantastic, I just need something that works with my schedule more.

oh, let me give you a heads up with Brenner. At your age he will push DE. He believes in going straight to that after a certain ago. I just want you to be prepared mentally and emotionally when you have a sit down with him.
Also, they tend to like all testing before starting a cycle. FM me. I had my consult in Nov,

I had a consult with Dr. Zapantis and I happened to be on CD 2 when my consult took place. He was actually willing to start a cycle with me then and there (but it was less complicated, clomid/trigger/IUI cycle). So i guess it was possible for me to jump right in even though I didn't end up using him.
Maybe you could call other RE's and ask.
