First period post-baby question.....
I had my 6 week check up with the OB today and I started to spot this morning. She said I'd likely get my first period in a day or two. I'm aware of the fact that the first period post-baby is often super heavy, but I forgot to ask if I can use a tampon or if I should just use a maxi-pad for the first cycle? I know, its probably a stupid question but I figured I'd ask.

Re: First period post-baby question.....
My Doctor always told me nothing in the vagina for six weeks. After that you should be clear for sex/tampons.

First period post-baby question.....
Tampons are ok after your 6 week check up but for me first period post delivery is so heavy they don't hold me. I usually use Always Extra Heavy Overnight (purple pads in blue wrapper ) for that first period post delivery. After maybe the second I'm back to tampons.

Me too. It took a while for tampons to work "right"

That was another thing, for a few months after I started using them, they didn't seem to "fit" right, almost like they were going to fall out. I guess it took a while for my vag to get back in order!

First period post-baby question.....
I have found that tampons were NOT working right for a long time after, and I had a c-section! It just was uncomfortable for me. I tried them once while I was down in florida back in april and going to be at the beach and pool, it was OK. I just prefer no tampons right now because even at 7 months PP AND breast feeding, AF is still too heavy and too clotty (sorry, tmi).
