Ovulation Test
I'm on my 3rd month of trying with using a tracker app on my phone. Do you think I should start trying ovulation tests?

I would. Those trackers really don't give you information specific enough to your cycle. Without temping or using an opk, it's very difficult to pinpoint when you ovulate. They generally go by the average of a 28 day cycle and a 14 day LP.
Personally I learned much more about my specific cycle by temping and using the cbefm and used the tracker (fertility friend) to input the data.

Assuming that a person knows that they are definitely ovulating SOMETIME within their cycle, do you really have to know when? Can't you just have sex nearly every day? (as you can tell, I'm pretty stupid w/this stuff)

There is a reason why it's not recommended. Something to do with sperm I believe. Also, ouch lol.
There is a method where you start having sex every other day from around CD10 and then around the time of ovulation, you have sex every day for 2 or 3 days straight.
Some women have ovulation symptoms but some (like me) don't. I pretty much never had ewcm or O pains or anything. Even after tracking for 2.5 years, I couldn't predict when I was going to ovulate except when using opk's.
