after he saw the trade the yanks did, he said watch the papers plaster that on the bad page. the mets with get a small part of the back page with sweeping atlanta in atlanta for the first time in 17 yrs

i'm numb to it by now
a yankee fan at work agree that he thinks the met should've been on the back page. as soon as they start doing bad, you'll see how fast they'll be on the back page

I'm sorry but the trade is big news especially with today being the trade deadline. Let me ask if the Mets made a trade yesterday for like Zito or Willis and that was on the back cover instead of the Mets sweeping Atlanta, would you be as upset? Today is the trade deadline. It's what everyone was talking about today. Even the Mets fans that I work with. They were all talking about trades going on, not the fact that the Mets swept Atlanta. You gotta print the big stories and today it was the trade news.

the point is whenever the mets do bad, you see them on the back page. to me, if a team wins for the first time in 17 yrs by sweeping i think its big news. maybe its just me. cause in point, the yanks did a trade yesterday. but who has the back page, the mets with something bad

The Yankees second trade was not nearly as big of a trade as Abreu and Lidle. That's a huge trade for the Yankees. Wilson for Chacon is not a headline at all. I didn't even care about that trade. It's minor and will probably have little impact on the season.
And let's be honest, there are more Yankee fans then Mets fans in this area. The paper is a business and it's going to put the stories in that most of it's readers would want to see.
I agree that the Mets sweeping Atlanta is big news. But not on trade deadline day when big names got traded.
