Would you post your
Registry information (registry #) on FB? Not just once but multiple times?
Reason why I'm asking is because I have a friend and I'm due a week ahead of her who has been posting every moment of her day on FB. About 2 weeks ago she posted her registry info. Today she posted a "in case you didn't see it here is my registry info". Just out if curiosity I checked it out to see if anything was purchased and no one purchased anything. This kind of rubbed me the wrong way...seems like desperation or begging. I don't want to say anything to her, but do you think I should say something because I'm quite sure other people are probably thinking the same thing.

Wow. That is beyond tacky and takes some set of balls. If that isn't soliciting for gifts then I don't know what is.

omg I had a friend who did that for her wedding multiple times. When her shower was coming up, she would post things like "omg someone bought the toaster oven!" or "Yes! So glad someone finally bought our bedding set" and it would drive me insane. Don't say anything, and just let her figure it out for herself. It's not worth bringing up, because then she will make you look like the bad guy

No the only people who got my registry info were people that were invited to my shower. Its not exactly hard to find otherwise all you need are the parents names most of the time... if someone wanted to find hers they would.

No way!! The only way I would mention the registry would be the say something about being excited to have picked out everything we needed for the baby. If family or friends wanted to find it, its not hard

haha, ew! Definitely a turn off. Personally, I don't think showers (or sprinkles) should be about gifts at all. I think it should be about celebrating the new life coming into this world and gifts are just an added bonus that should be appreciated, but never expected. It's pretty rude to sort of 'demand' gifts from people. And posting your registry is sort of doing exactly like. "Buy me stuff!" lol. No thank you. But I wouldn't say anything. I mean, if it's your sister or a BFF then I can totally see being honest with her in how others might perceive these posts, but if it's just a casual friend I'd leave it be.

I'm beginning to wonder once someone purchase something off there if she would announce it. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised.

I never even announced either of my pregnancies on FB, so I definitely wouldn't be posting my registry. I would think it was super tacky if I saw someone do that.

An accuantance of mine did and I was floored. It was her second child so I assume she wasn't having a shower. I looked out of curiosity and the registry was huge as if she didn't have a young child already. Bouncer, strollers, swing, high chair, etc along with requests for home cooked meals and housecleaning promises. To each their own and maybe her family is supportive of that kind of thing but to me it's nuts.

I'm actually surprised someone hasn't said something to her already. Although someone could have said it and she did it anyway. My mom, sisters, DH, etc would be like "WTF are you doing?!"

Nooo! First pregnancy it went out with shower invites. I made one for completion discount this time and only gave if asked. I'd never post! It's like saying "in case you didn't buy me a gift yet, here are some things I want you to buy me". Not cool. Lol
