As a parent if your 4-5 year old was invited to a safe t swim birthday party in the winter how would u feel?
My kids love to swim and have January birthdays so I know they would love this But don't want to annoy other parents lol

There's always going to be a few no matter what you choose to do. Do what makes your kid happy. I don't think 5 years old is unreasonable in the pool -

Re: Safe t swim party for 5 year old-honest opinions
We are going to one this weekend and DD is very excited. I don't' think it should matter that it's in the winter! In fact, swimming in the winter is the best.
I mean right now, DD has our pool in the yard and can swim every day so swimming at this party tomorrow is no big deal.
But if this was January- and we wer all cooped up for months, it would be such a fun novelty to go indoor swimming!
I say do it!

Re: Safe t swim party for 5 year old-honest opinions
Why do you think parents would be annoyed? Because it's winter? I don't think the parents have to go in the pool right?
I hope not because I am not planning on going in with DD tomorrow. I AM bringing her puddle jumper though because there is no way she is going in a pool without it.

no not because it is in the winter.
But I know my kids are fine with a puddle jumper/swimmies etc in the pool and I didn't want to assume that all 4-5 year olds were. (my kids are first kids to turn 5 with a January birthday). If they are not ok with swimmies or their own life vest etc the parent has to go in with them. Didn't want any parent to feel uncomfortable.
I know my kids would have a BLAST especially because it is mid winter

Funny when I got the invite I posted on here because she is not a good swimmer. Everyone said oh they give them swimmies if they can't swim well. I am not at all comfortable with her in just swimmies so I texted the mom and she asked them (she goes to lessons there) and they said you can bring your own lifevest, puddle jumper etc. So I am fine with it. I would say at that age, most are ok in a life vest or puddle jumper. There will always be a few who aren't, but IMO you can't cater to everyone. If your kids will love it, go for it

Thanks! I was thinking if I did this I would have an insert with the invitation letting everyone know how it works and that they are more than welcome to bring their own life jacket etc Getting ahead of myself but I always plan ahead

Safe t swim party for 5 year old-honest opinions
My friend had a very bad experience at the new hyde park location for her daughters birthday, unorganized and no planned games like promised, also they put them in a tiny party room bc the other room had an earlier party

Safe t swim party for 5 year old-honest opinions
My son has a March birthday and we had his five year old party at Safe t swim. All 25 kids invited showed up and had a great time. I think the colder months are a great time to have a party at an indoor pool.

I'm fine with pool parties for 5 and up. And I only say that bc I dont want to get in the pool for the party and any younger and I would feel like I had to be in there with them.

Re: Safe t swim party for 5 year old-honest opinions
If they were turning 5 in kindergarten, I'd be more comfy than preK swim party. My daughter is a good swimmer at only 4 but most aren't. Also, the whole maturity level from kindergarten to PreK is a big jump in terms of safety and following rules and most feeling less scared.
